Join a Workspace

Join a Workspace when someone has invited you to an existing work area. You can join with an invite code, open an invite link, or accept a pending invite when Workspace setup shows one.

Terms you may see:

  • Join Workspace opens the Join Workspace dialog.
  • Enter Workspace Join Code is where you paste or type the invite code.
  • Submit checks the join code and adds the Workspace when the invite is valid.
  • Your role and access come from the Workspace owner/admin and invite settings.

Before you start

  • A valid invite code, invite link, or pending Workspace invite.
  • The account that should receive access to the Workspace.
  • An invite that has not expired, been deleted, or been revoked.

Join with an invite code

  1. Open Workspace setup.
  2. Choose Join Workspace.
  3. Paste or type the code into Enter Workspace Join Code.
  4. Choose Submit.
  5. Wait for the app to add and open the Workspace.

Expected outcome: The joined Workspace appears in your available Workspaces. Your role and permissions come from the invite or from the Workspace owner/admin.

  1. Open the invite link you received.
  2. Sign in if the app asks you to authenticate.
  3. Confirm you are using the account that should accept the invite.
  4. Continue through the Workspace setup flow.
  5. Confirm the Workspace appears in your Workspace switcher.

Expected outcome: The invite is accepted by the correct account and the Workspace becomes available in the app.

Accept a pending invite

  1. Open Workspace setup.
  2. Review the Workspace Invitations area if it appears.
  3. Confirm the invite is for the expected Workspace.
  4. Choose Accept.
  5. Wait for the Workspace to become available.

Expected outcome: The pending invite is accepted and the Workspace appears in your available Workspaces.

Troubleshooting

Submit is disabled

  • Symptom: The Submit action cannot be selected.
  • Cause: Enter Workspace Join Code is empty.
  • Resolution:
    1. Paste or type the invite code.
    2. Confirm the code was copied completely.
    3. Try Submit again.

The invite code is invalid

  • Symptom: The app rejects the invite code or the Workspace does not appear.
  • Cause: The code may be expired, typed incorrectly, deleted, restored incorrectly, already used in a way that blocks reuse, or intended for a different account.
  • Resolution:
    1. Copy and paste the full code again.
    2. Confirm you are signed in with the intended account.
    3. Ask the Workspace owner/admin to check the invite code status.
    4. Ask for a new invite if the code is no longer valid.

The Workspace is missing after joining

  • Symptom: The join action completes, but the Workspace is not visible.
  • Cause: You may be signed in with another account, the invite may not have completed, or the app may need to refresh membership.
  • Resolution:
    1. Confirm the signed-in account.
    2. Refresh Workspace setup.
    3. Ask the Workspace owner/admin to confirm your member row is Active.
    4. Ask for a new invite if the member row is missing or declined.

FAQ

Can I accept an invite before signing in?

Yes. Opening an invite can send you through sign-in first, then continue to Workspace setup.

What happens after I join a Workspace?

The Workspace becomes available to your account. The work you can see depends on your role and item permissions.

Do not forward invite links unless the Workspace owner/admin says it is allowed. Invites may be tied to an intended account or permission level.
